We had some rain this morning, but i doubt if it will have made much difference to how dry the soil is after all the hot weather.

I have been doing a fair bit of crafting lately, both clean and messy, just how I like it - all mixed up, just like me!!

It was my lovely friend and Stampin' Up! buddy, Sara Rayner's birthday last week so I made her a card using some of the goodies from the Expressions in Ink Suite. The designer series paper is absolutely stunning and as much as it hurt to cut into it, I know Sara will appreciate my pain so I allowed myself to cut it. My other paper stroker friends will get this, LOL.

Our little Stampin' Up! team meeting was lovely as always and here are the projects we made. I cant wait to go out for a meal with family and friends again, but am not sure I'm ready just yet.

Its been a busy time here lately, I had an idea to make my old filing cabinet look a bit better and used lots of moulded shapes and embellishments with Powertex to decorate it.

I love how it turned out but it took a bit longer than I thought it would!

As it took so long, I haven't really done much more with Powertex, but I have done some 'clean' crafting. I love our walks in the morning - nearly as much as crafting (I said nearly 😉!!!).

With a bit of luck, the restrictions will lift soon so we can start to think about getting together again to craft but until we can (and more importantly, it’s safe) I’d like to get the ball rolling to meet up virtually, if your up for it?

If your free on Friday 30th April, from 2pm I’m going to set up a Zoom call so we can have a crafty natter online. All you need is a laptop, computer, tablet or a device which has a camera and microphone so we can all see and hear each other

It would be even better if you are crafting, too. Any craft, knitting, painting, parchment, it really doesn’t matter.

To send you the invite, I have to ask your permission to have your email and for you to confirm that I can contact you. So if you could fill in the form to sign up to my newsletter or contact me direct, I will send the Zoom invitation through a couple of days before our meeting,.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and hope to ‘see’ you on Friday!

Got to dash, our dog (Shiloh) seems to have worked out it’s walk time! Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Its been so hard since she passed but I am grateful that she didn't have to go through all the pain of COVID-19.

We finally managed to get the house finished, but having been here for nearly 8 years, we need to think about decorating some rooms now!!! My craftroom(s) are ready for in person classes and workshops - when restrictions allow and here it is...

Get me for looking like I know what I am doing, haha.

I have been really busy and have only really been using Facebook to tell everyone about my crafting. So for the full picture you can see me on (2) Janscraftroom | Facebook.

In 2017 I became a Certified Powertex Tutor and until the pandemic was doing workshops and demonstrations in and around Barnsley ,Wakefield and also at Hobbycraft in Leeds. Obviously, workshops have been on hold for the last 12 months but I have done some online and many more are planned. My new website is nearly ready, so when its sorted, I will post a link.

After the pandemic threw all our lives into disarray, I had issues where I worked resulting in me not being employed for a few months (my choice, as working in H&S I just wasn't comfortable with their lack of protection for staff and clients) and in June 2020 I also retuned to Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator, again. This was initially just for me, but I am getting more lovely ladies ordering and asking for classes.

I will be starting some Coffee and Craft sessions in the next couple of weeks where we just get together 'vurtually' online and just do our own thing. So, whether you are into knitting, sewing, cardmaking, felting, parching, ANY crafting - just let me know and I will email you the link.

Ok, thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Sorry its taken so long but I hope you are all well and keeping safe.

Jan xxx

Jan Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12265249316993591216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8895800020724911872.post-33384588342795036642016-06-28T19:02:00.001+01:002016-06-28T19:02:54.726+01:00Update on Me and My CraftingWell, its very nearly 12 months since my last update - that is sooooo scary!

So much has happened - the main thing is that I am no longer with Stampin' Up! This was a MASSIVE decision for me as I had been a demonstrator for about 7 years. In some ways, SU made the decision for me as some of you may know I also sell South Hill Designs who were bought earlier this year by Youngevity.

Youngevity are huge in the USA and the only way I can describe them is that they are like the Amazon of direct sales, They have loads of products including chocolate, coffee, make up, pet products - and also craft products - which is where SU said there was a conflict of interest.

Anyway, long story short, I am free to do what I want now - and I am LOVING the freedom.
- Dont have to worry about what I post on my blog
- Can demonstrate any products I want in my classes
- Dont have to worry about using retired products (woo hoo!!!)
- I am learning sooo much about what other products are out there. Its like I have taken off my SU blinkers and can see clearly again.

Here are the cards we made in our last Stampin' Up! class a few weeks ago.
Hope your enjoying the weekend. I've been really busy lately and had forgotten to post a photo of a card made for me by Olivia.

I gave her some of the items from my craft room a few weeks ago and here is the thank you card and cute ladybird she made for me. But I've been crafting, and have even been remembering to take photos (well, most of the time anyway.

Hopefully my marathon colds have gone now, I've been able to breathe for just over a full week - bliss!

Anyway, here is a card for my amazing friend, Shirley. This is to ensure that I can order the items needed in time for the class the following week.

The cost of the class is £10 per person and includes all materials and use of tools etc.

Please confirm ASAP if you are coming to the class and I will order the items needed.

Jan x

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
Jan Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12265249316993591216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8895800020724911872.post-89142688108062480242014-12-26T13:40:00.001+00:002014-12-26T13:40:16.662+00:00Well, I did try to post this on Weds but for some reason my post wouldn't work.

Remember the Stars Class I did in November, well here is a photo of the finished project.

All I did was make holes in the stars and hang them on elastic cord before suspending them in our window.

The photo doesn't really do them justice as the light is quite bright outside but you can see the idea.

Hope you and your families had a wonderful Christmas.

Jan x

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
Jan Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12265249316993591216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8895800020724911872.post-19896565528727807402014-12-17T10:08:00.001+00:002014-12-17T10:08:29.783+00:00Gift Bags for South Hill Designs SocialSorry I've been all over the shop the last month or two (and I have been poorly lately which hasn't helped). But here's a photo of some of the gift bags I made for the ladies who came to the South Hill Designs Jewellery party I had the other week.

Now, some of the items are retired now but the gift bags are still current and are amazing. Food quality, measure 8.9x6.4x20.4 cm. they are really sturdy too. £5.50 for 10 so only 55p each. I love them so much I've ordered loads more!!!

Thanks for looking

Jan x

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
Jan Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12265249316993591216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8895800020724911872.post-16509440033526415192014-11-30T20:44:00.001+00:002014-11-30T20:44:33.128+00:00Stars Class KitsHi there.

Had lots of South Hills Designs parties and events over the last few weeks which has taken up lots of my time but I had a 'eureka' moment today and just had to have a little play.

We had our Stars Class last weekend where I showed the ladies how to assemble and decorate the 26 stars in the Many Merry Stars kit. We talked about ways of making the stars into gift boxes and this afternoon whilst driving to see Sara at the Wortley Hall Craft Fair I suddenly came up with an idea.

Instead of assembling them using all the tabs on the side strip to each point on the stars I cut some of the tabs off before assembly and here they are.

These are the boxes closed.

And here they are open.

The strips already have the adhesive on you just peal off the adhesive tape. This is how I cut the tabs off the strips.

The opening is quite small but it does allow you to get items inside- I will probably pad out the boxes with some tissue paper when I put gifts in. But if your filling with sweets it probably won't need anything.

Hope your having a great weekend.
Jan

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
Jan Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12265249316993591216noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8895800020724911872.post-76594702013512263072014-11-25T22:29:00.000+00:002014-11-25T22:33:24.589+00:00

It is a 8x8" card blank from my stash and I used Real Red ink and cardstock to decorate.

I used the hearts stencil and a sponge dauber to add the red hearts to the card blank making the hearts at the top darker than the bottom. Then I used crystal effects on the hearts to give dimension and shine.

The hearts were die cut from Real Red and White cardstock then the flowers from Bloom with Hope stamped in Real Red ink before matting them onto the card blank. I was very brave and stamped the 40th Anniversary by 'eyeballing' it (I forgot where I had put my stamp a ma jig!!!). The 'happy' was stamped on a scrap of card then punched out with the Whats up punch (arrows).

The ribbon is just some from my stash as I couldnt find any real red (memo to self, tidy up the craft room!!!).
Want to make some lovely Christmas decorations?

Here is a brand new kit from Stampin Up! With 26 stars ranging from 38cm right down to 5cm.

Here's the set of stars I made using the kit which costs just £23.95.

Everything you need (except for adhesive) is included in the kit.

If you would like to learn how to make the stars, I am holding a class on 22nd November at 11am to 1pm. Now, one thing you do need to know, you will only finish 4-5 stars in the class - once you know how to make the stars you can finish them at home. I took about a day and a half to make them all up.

The Early Bird cost of the class is £30 if you book with me by the 10th of November.

The cost includes the full kit and adhesives to assemble the items in the class. Refreshments are also included.

I have to order the kits in time for the class so will be putting the order in for the 11th November.

Order after the 11th November and the cost of the class will be £35 (as I will need to order more kits and there will be an extra delivery charge).

Book early to get the best deal so contact me now to reserve your place.

Jan x

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
Jan Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12265249316993591216noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8895800020724911872.post-6701361226948963132014-10-26T21:15:00.001+00:002014-10-26T21:15:23.087+00:00I'm back and craftingWell, what can I say about Brussels..?
