Pampered Chef Cutlery Holders

I know, I promised that I would post some projects didn't I!?  Well, I'm sorry but I have been up to my eyes lately with work & stuff, but I do have something to show you today.

Last night I had a Pampered Chef night at home with loads of my friends and family.  It was brilliant and Alison who did the cooking (and washing up!!!) made the most amazing profiteroles (one of my absolute favourite treats) and Mexican Chicken Lasagna.  She also made some Pimms (which I finally finished off at about midnight!!!) I've never had it before but it was lovely - and with all the fruit in it, I think I might have actually had my 5 a day.

As I couldnt have people coming and not having anything crafty involved, I made these little cutlery pouches.
Here they all are, ready for my guests.

The night was brilliant, I just need to decide on what to get for all my freebies!

Here is a link to the Youtube video I used to make the pouches, its a couple of years old but you will see how to make the folds.

I used the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper and some of the fab freebies from this months promotion - spend £45 in products and get
  • 10 yard spool of 1/8″ wide Lucky Limeade Organdy ribbon;
  • 10 yard spool of 1/8″ wide Calypso Coral Organdy ribbon;
  • 30 Printed Designer Brads: 6 ea. of 5 designs (the colour scheme includes Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla and Soft Suede).
There are only a few days to get your hands on the DSP and the free brads and ribbons, so email me now to place your order.

The other items I used were Very Vanilla, Luky Limeade and Poppy Parade cardstock and Delicate Doilies and Butterfly Prints stamp sets.

Ok, off to look at what I can get for may freebies now.  Have a great weekend.

Hi there!

Life has really got in the way of blogging and crafting for me lately.  I finally managed to get another qualification for my 'day' job - I've decided that's the last one though, I'm getting far too old for exams & stuff now!

I did a lovely workshop last night for Rachel (Hi Rachel ***waves***).  Ill share what we made but it was great - and the cake she made was scrummy!

Anyway, here is an A4 sized Golden Wedding card I made for a work colleague.

Yes, I have used Mocha Morning Designer Series Paper AND Brushed Gold cardstock - I did need to keep topping up with chocolate to maintain my stamina whilst doing it though.

The flowers are from stamp set called Everything Eleanor and I have heat embossed them in versamark with black embossing power along with the sentiments (from Curly Cute & Teeny Tiny Wishes) and the initials of the happy couple (from Monogram Sweet Alphabet).

The panels of Mocha Morning are just mounted on mats of Basic Black card to tie in with the black embossing.

I promise I will post some more of my recent cards soon, so bob back for a look in the next few days!

Quick Post

Good morning.

I havent had the chance to get on line much this weekend.

I did a craft fair in Hemsworth (Hi everyone!!!) which was great.  There were lots of gorgeous stuff there including fresh muffins.... It was a little quiet but I spoke to lots of lovely ladies who were into crafting - and scrapbooking!  I had a fab day and would like to thank my Mum and Shirley for all their help.

Another thank you too for this card I received on Saturday from our newest team member, Cheryl.

Its beautiful, isnt it?  Cheryl lives near Rotherham and here is a link to her blog.  I helped Cheryl put her first (no doubt the first of many..) order through to help her get the most of her freebies and extra discount for her first order.  I LOVE putting the orders in - I get so excited, I have been known to order the same thing twice...

I also nipped to the craft show at the Doncaster Racecourse yesterday which was nice.  There were some ladies from SU there too, so we had a little natter.  I didnt buy that much though (I tend to buy from me to get the discount!) just some A3 card - but it was nice to see all the lovely designs to get ideas for my own crafting.

Thanks for stopping by

June Thank You Cards

I had lots of thank you cards to make last month for my stamp club and also for the ladies who came to Annes workshop and here are the cards I made.

The card blank is Whisper White and to add a bit of texture, I scored lines to the bottom edge of the card blank before creating an aperture by punching out a flower using the Blossom Punch.

Here is a closer photo.

The flowers were simply stamped in versamark using the Mixed Bunch stamp set, heat embossed with white embossing powder and then punched out with the blossom punch.  I used Perfect Plum, Concord Crush and Melon Mambo card stock to make them nice and summery - I hope it wasnt me that tempted fate with the weather...!

The sentiment is from Curly Cute and was stamped in Perfect Plum ink directly onto the card front.  One of the embossed and punched flowers was attached directly through the aperture and two others attached to the front of the card, slightly overlapping the first flower.

I think the Mixed Bunch stamp set is going to be one of my favourites - the detail is stunning on all of the images.  What do you think?

Slap my hand

I know, I need my hand slapping for not posting anything for a while.  But I do have an excuse, honest.

Me and my DH went on holiday for a few days to the Goodwood Festival of Speed and had a brilliant time.  Its the first holiday we have had for about 6 years - we always end up staying at home when we have any time off work, but my cunning plan of getting away (choose somewhere with motorbikes) worked!

We were there from Thursday to Sunday so hopefully we managed to see everything.  I even managed to get Ian to go for a ride in a helicopter!!!

Ian's little challenge, to get me some photos for scrapbooking, worked too, so I will probably have enough to fill 10 scrapbooks now.  I'll share some photos of the scrapbook pages soon, but in the meantime, here is a photo of a card I made for each of our team members for our meeting last week.

The card blank is Crumb Cake with a mat of Cherry Cobler.  The Very Vanilla card on top was embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and then the raised areas were inked with Cherry Cobler ink using a sponge dauber.  I'm not sure if you can see from the phots but only the outer edges of the Very Vanilla card are embossed.

I did this by taking a number of pieces of the backing card from designer series paper (4"x 6" in size) and cutting out an area with one of the dies from the Framelits Labels dies on each card piece.  I used 7 pieces of card and glued each one together on top of each other, making sure that the area cut out with the die lined up.   Every Big Shot machine is ever so slightly different, so the depth of card you will need will vary - the thickness of the card used will also affect how many pieces needed.  Basically, you are looking for the depth of a cutting mat as you will replace one of the cutting mats when embossing the card.

Once I had the right thickness, I ran the Very Vanilla cardstock through the Big Shot using the platform (without tabs 1 and 2) the card 'cutting mat' embossing folder with cardstock inside and then just one cutting mat.

The sentiment above and below the Very Vanilla 1/4" Very Vanilla ribbon is from the Petite Pairs stamp set and the flower is punched out from some Deck the Halls fabric.  I wouldn't recommend punching through fabric though - it was very tough even when using the fabric adhesive - to punch out (I ended up standing on the punch to get it to cut through).  The brad in the centre of the flower is from the Antique Brads - one of my absolute favourate products from the current catty.  I only allow really special people to have these, as they are so gorgeous!

Here is a photo of some of the other cards I made for the event.
And here is a photo of everyone engrossed in playing.

Just before I go, there are two offers from Stampin' Up! this month - click here to find out more!

Thanks for stopping by.
