Swaps from Team Training

Hi there!
As promised, here are some photos of the swaps I made for our team training last Sunday.

Here is the same card, but using different colours.

I am so proud I managed to use some of my Designer Series Papers too - I normally just sit and stroke it - but I managed to die cut the flowers using my new Folded Flowers Bigz XL die.  There are actually four different sizes of flowers on the die, but the largest one was too big to fit on the 4" square card!

To make the card blank I cut the card to 4" x 12" and scored at 4" and 8" using my Simply Scored Board.  Then I put the Diagonal Board on top of the simply scored board and scored diagonally from the top corner down to the first 4" scoreline and then at the 8" mark, down to the bottom point of the 12" card blank.

The Designer Series Paper I used is called Twitterpated and it is definately one of my favourates. 

Have you worked out how I made the centre of the flowers?  They are bottle tops that I flattened by running through the Big Shot and then I pressed them into some Versamark and sprinkled white embossing powder on top.  The bottle tops were then heated using a heat tool which melts the embossing powder and is a great way of changing the colour of any embellishment (metal, card or even chipboard) and the finish is lovely and shiny. 

The stamped image inside the center of the bottle top is stamped using one of the flower images from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and then punched out with a 1" circle punch.

June Thank You Cards

I had lots of thank you cards to make last month for my stamp club and also for the ladies who came to Annes workshop and here are the cards I made.

The card blank is Whisper White and to add a bit of texture, I scored lines to the bottom edge of the card blank before creating an aperture by punching out a flower using the Blossom Punch.

The flowers were simply stamped in versamark using the Mixed Bunch stamp set, heat embossed with white embossing powder and then punched out with the blossom punch.  I used Perfect Plum, Concord Crush and Melon Mambo card stock to make them nice and summery - I hope it wasnt me that tempted fate with the weather...!

The sentiment is from Curly Cute and was stamped in Perfect Plum ink directly onto the card front.  One of the embossed and punched flowers was attached directly through the aperture and two others attached to the front of the card, slightly overlapping the first flower.

I think the Mixed Bunch stamp set is going to be one of my favourites - the detail is stunning on all of the images.  What do you think?

Mixed Blossoms

Hi everyone, hope your having a lovely weekend.

Ive had a great week with a brilliant workshop on Thursday where the hostess (Hi Anne!!) managed to earn £110 in free products plus three extra items at half price - WOW!!!  The promotion is on for both June and July, so if you want to get even more freebies, contact me now.

Today I am busy preparing for our team training event which is tomorrow afternoon, but wanted to share a card I made using the lovely Mixed Blossoms stamp set and matching punch.

The butterfly is just the flower image stamped in versamark onto vellum cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder and then punched out with the Blossom Punch.  To make it into a butterfly shape I just cut two of the petals away and mounted it with dimentionals on to a mat of Indigo Island cardstock - but slightly offset to give a border, again cutting away two petals from the mat.  The two petals from the Indigo Island mat are adhered to the top part of the butterfly to make the border all around the butterfly.

I stamped the sentiment and the butterfly body from the Butterfly Prints stamp set in Indigo Island ink onto Whisper White card.  The bottom of the Whisper White car was dry embossed with lines from the Simply Scored board at 1/8 inch intervals.  This was then mounted onto mats of Indigo Island & Whisper White cardstock and Pacific Point Bakers Twine wrapped around it before adding to the Indigo Island card blank.

The butterfly was attached with dimentionals and some Basic Rhinestones added to finish off.

The card we made in the workshop was similar but we just used the flower and one of the flower centre images.  They had a choice of colours, Indigo Island or Pool Party - I think Pool Party won though!.

 The sentiment is from Curly Cute and the centre of the flower has a Printed brad through the centre.
