Mothers Day Card

Hi there
Just remembered to post a photo of Mums Mothers Day card (Yet another manic week!!!)

It's a 8"square card using the stunning gold embossed vellum, gold foil sheet, crochet trim, gold bakers twine and Typeset alphabet set. I even used my new scallop tag punch for the first time.

The chicks are doing great. There are four and they are running Evie absolutely ragged. As soon as the little minx's stand still for long enough I'll take some photos (they are beyond cute and changing all the time).

Have a great weekend.

Mums Birthday Card & Mothers Day Surprise...

Due to major problems with Blogger, I have spent the last 3 days trying to post this, but wait till you see the last bit of my post as its so worth the wait!

I've actually done my first craft project in weeks and it was for mums birthday.

It's an A5 sized card blank using the Another Great Year stamp set (a great sized sentiment!) which was stamped onto very vanilla card and Crumb Cake DSP using Early Espresso ink.

The banners from the DSP were cut out and adhered directly on top of the banners of the very vanilla card. Then I used part of a multi purpose sheet over the top of both layers (leaving the top layer of protective paper on the image) before running it through the Big Shot with the large oval scalloped die.

The protective paper was pealed off and Dazzling Diamonds sprinkled on (my mum has a slight tenancy towards glitter..)

I added a mat of DSP to the front of the card blank, the dazzling diamond panel and flowers we're die cut, assembled and adhered.

The leaves were punched out of Old Olive card stock with the Bird Builder punch and glued in place with Tombow.

Now, it is Mothers Day today, so I hope all you mums out there have had a super day.  We don't have any children (just a cat, a dog 5 chickens & some fish...) however I had the most unbelievable Mothers Day present this afternoon - some of Evie's eggs have hatched... Just take a look at these little cuties!

Hope you have all had a super weekend - I certainly have!!!

Blogger Problem

Well, Ive actually been crafting for a change, but due to some sort of problem with Blogger, I can't upload the photo! Spent two days trying but not giving up - hopefully it'll get sorted and I'll be able to show you the birthday card I made for mum.

Belated Paper Doll Birthday

Hope I'm not spoiling the surprise but here's a card for one of our lovely Paper Dolls.

I actually demonstrated how to make it at one of our classes. The photo doesn't do I justice, the dazzling diamonds around the edge and on the canvas for the sentiment look lovely.

And just before I go, here's a photo of Shadow on his first German Shepherd Dog Rescue Walk at Rabbit Ings Country Park, Royston today.

He is really nervous around other dogs and was spooked by a couple of naughty furbabies.
Having said that he did take quite a liking to a lovely lady called Bonnie...

We also have some news about Evie one of the chickens, she's gone broody and is now looking after 8 eggs!!! Here she is in her little nursery.

Enjoy your weekend!

Kit fix & Craft Fair

At last I've had a craft fix! Well, of sorts anyway.
I first saw this kit in the flesh at the SU convention last year so I ordered it as soon as I could.

It's called Happenings Simply Created Card Kit and at £13.50 to make 15 cards it's brilliant value for money.

Here are the three designs suggested in the pack. You get enough items in the kit to make 15 cards and you can add items from your stash too.

I've used an image from Itty Bitty Banners on the bottom card just to show how SU design their products to coordinate with lots of items.

I'm going to the Hemsworth Spring Craft Fair this Saturday (8th March) if you fancy coming for a chat. It's on from 10 til 2pm and entry is free. I will have lots of little items for sale made with SU products.

The address is Hemsworth Community Centre, Bullenshaw Road, Hemsworth, Pontefract, WF 9 4NE.

Nearly 4 Weeks and No Crafting!

Yep! How bad is that!!?

Work and life in general has really got in the way of my crafting this month.

I even missed out on going to the Doncaster Racecourse Craft Show last Saturday as I had to work!!!

The chickens are doing great, they even go up to bed on their own now - saves me having to crawl under the coup and catch each one to put them in bed. Not a ladylike activity I can assure you.

Shadows skin has massively improved. The vet said that if he was a smaller dog his flee infestation was so bad he would have been anaemic. He must have been suffering for months.

He's started his inoculations and all being well should get spayed in the next few weeks. He has been a little poorly for the last few days with an upset stomach but the vet isn't too worried about him.

We are officially his mum and dad now so all we need to do now is get Mrs Miggins used to him...

Anyway, enough of my rambling. I have a place left on this weeks class spare. So if you fancy a couple of hours making 4 cards using different Ombré techniques, book now. The class is on Saturday 1st March 11 am til 2pm
