Whats on your craft table today?

Hi, hope you are well and the weather isn't causing you too many problems.  We had some rain this morning, but i doubt if it will have made much difference to how dry the soil is after all the hot weather.

I have been doing a fair bit of crafting lately, both clean and messy, just how I like it - all mixed up, just like me!!

It was my lovely friend and Stampin' Up! buddy, Sara Rayner's birthday last week so I made her a card using some of the goodies from the Expressions in Ink Suite.  The designer series paper is absolutely stunning and as much as it hurt to cut into it, I know Sara will appreciate my pain so I allowed myself to cut it.  My other paper stroker friends will get this, LOL.

Our little Stampin' Up! team meeting was lovely as always and here are the projects we made.  The little box is so sweet, isnt it?  We were joined by my new team member too which was fab.

Just look at the embossing on the card fronts, I might just have to put the Ornate Floral 3D folder in my next order...

We do swaps in our team too which is great as the ladies are so talented and we get to see different ideas and products we might not think of getting.  Its so strange, no matter how many times I scour the catalogue, I still miss things I NEED.  Here are the swaps we made.

We used a sketch to give us a starting point for our designs.  I have never done this before and I was surprised how much easier it was to have a starting point instead of a blank card.  I'll definitely use a sketch again.

The January to June Mini Catalogue finishes in a couple of weeks and there is a Last Chance Sale on at the minute.  Click HERE to see the savings.

Stampin' Up! have also brought out a range of lovely and very reasonably priced kits (with or without stamps) so regardless of how you craft, you can grab some beautifully coordinated kits to make quick sets of cards.  Here are the kits on my website.

That's the clean stuff, so here are the messy crafts I have been up to.

I had my first one-to-one Powertex Workshop a few weeks ago which was FABULOUS!  Lots of fun, putting the world to rights and crafting too.  She made a brilliant job of decorating the box she brought with her, in fact she enjoyed it so much she came back the day after to finish it off!

I also made this plaque during our workshop so I could demonstrate some techniques.

I have some door plaques on my craft tables at the moment which are waiting for me to add the colour.

Fancy a coffee and craft natter on Friday 18th or 25th June at 2pm?  Let me know ASAP and I will email you the Zoom link.

Busy Bee

Hi everyone, hope you are all keeping well?

Ive had my second vaccination so hoping that we can start getting back to some sort of normal again, mind you it seems a bit strange starting to do some things again.  I cant wait to go out for a meal with family and friends again, but am not sure I'm ready just yet.

Its been a busy time here lately, I had an idea to make my old filing cabinet look a bit better and used lots of moulded shapes and embellishments with Powertex to decorate it.

I love how it turned out but it took a bit longer than I thought it would!

As it took so long, I haven't really done much more with Powertex, but I have done some 'clean' crafting.  Here are some lovely thank you cards made during our Paper Dolls Team Meeting with the new In Colours from Stampin' Up! as well as a great little box, coloured using Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

Its ages since I used alcohol markers but I loved doing this.

I gave some of the thank you cards away with orders from my customers, I hope they liked them.

If you would like a copy of the new catalogue, let me know.  But if you are too excited and cant wait for a copy posting, you can get an electronic copy here.

There are some fab offers at Stampin' Up! right now and you can see them here on my Stampin' Up! website

Just one more thing to tell you about. I am doing a free online Coffee and Craft chat on Friday 28th May at 2pm.  If you would like to join us, please let me know as soon as possible by email or subscribing to my newsletter so I can send you the link.

Stay safe everyone!

Coffee & Craft

 Good morning!

I hope you are all well and keeping safe  We have a lovely sunny day again here, I think a dog walk is in order. I love our walks in the morning - nearly as much as crafting (I said nearly 😉!!!).

With a bit of luck, the restrictions will lift soon so we can start to think about getting together again to craft but until we can (and more importantly, it’s safe) I’d like to get the ball rolling to meet up virtually, if your up for it?

If your free on Friday 30th April, from 2pm I’m going to set up a Zoom call so we can have a crafty natter online.  All you need is a laptop, computer, tablet or a device which has a camera and microphone so we can all see and hear each other

It would be even better if you are crafting, too. Any craft, knitting, painting, parchment, it really doesn’t matter.

To send you the invite, I have to ask your permission to have your email and for you to confirm that I can contact you. So if you could fill in the form to sign up to my newsletter or contact me direct, I will send the Zoom invitation through a couple of days before our meeting,.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and hope to ‘see’ you on Friday!

Got to dash, our dog (Shiloh) seems to have worked out it’s walk time!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Stay safe x

I'm Back

 Yes, I'm back, again.

So many years have gone by since I posted on here that its taken me ages to get back into my account!!!

Life has changed so much over the years (not just during the pandemic) my lovely Mum passed away in January 2019 so we have had to adjust to not having her around and coming to my classes.  Its been so hard since she passed but I am grateful that she didn't have to go through all the pain of COVID-19.

We finally managed to get the house finished, but having been here for nearly 8 years, we need to think about decorating some rooms now!!!  My craftroom(s) are ready for in person classes and workshops - when restrictions allow and here it is...

Get me for looking like I know what I am doing, haha.

I have been really busy and have only really been using Facebook to tell everyone about my crafting. So for the full picture you can see me on (2) Janscraftroom | Facebook.

In 2017 I became a Certified Powertex Tutor and until the pandemic was doing workshops and demonstrations in and around Barnsley ,Wakefield and also at Hobbycraft in Leeds.  Obviously, workshops have been on hold for the last 12 months but I have done some online and many more are planned.  My new website is nearly ready, so when its sorted, I will post a link.

After the pandemic threw all our lives into disarray, I had issues where I worked resulting in me not being employed for a few months (my choice, as working in H&S I just wasn't comfortable with their lack of protection for staff and clients) and in June 2020 I also retuned to Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator, again.  This was initially just for me, but I am getting more lovely ladies ordering and asking for classes.

I will be starting some Coffee and Craft sessions in the next couple of weeks where we just get together 'vurtually' online and just do our own thing.  So, whether you are into knitting, sewing, cardmaking, felting, parching, ANY crafting - just let me know and I will email you the link.

Ok, thank you for taking the time to read my blog.  Sorry its taken so long but I hope you are all well and keeping safe.

Update on Me and My Crafting

Well, its very nearly 12 months since my last update - that is sooooo scary!

So much has happened - the main thing is that I am no longer with Stampin' Up!  This was a MASSIVE decision for me as I had been a demonstrator for about 7 years.  In some ways, SU made the decision for me as some of you may know I also sell South Hill Designs who were bought earlier this year by Youngevity.

Youngevity are huge in the USA and the only way I can describe them is that they are like the Amazon of direct sales,  They have loads of products including chocolate, coffee, make up, pet products - and also craft products - which is where SU said there was a conflict of interest.

Anyway, long story short, I am free to do what I want now - and I am LOVING the freedom.
-  Dont have to worry about what I post on my blog
- Can demonstrate any products I want in my classes
- Dont have to worry about using retired products (woo hoo!!!)
- I am learning sooo much about what other products are out there.  Its like I have taken off my SU blinkers and can see clearly again.

Here are the cards we made in our last Stampin' Up! class a few weeks ago.

Happy Birthday Kath

I can't believe I haven't posted for so long - life really has got in the way of things lately.

Here's a birthday card I made for my friend Kath's 60th birthday. Now, I had to do something pretty different as Kath is the one who started me making cards. And it worked! The first thing she asked was how I had made it - Result!!!

The letters were die cut using the Little Letters thinlits, Stamps used were a mixture of Larger Than Life Alphabet & Numbers, Beautiful Bunch, Petite Petals and Flower Shop. Matching punches and Lots of Labels Framelits were used to cut out the flowers and mats for the numbers.

Hope you have s fantastic weekend.
