A girl can never have enough handbags, right?
Well, I cant. Here is a photo of my first attempt at making one.
I went to one of Jean's Dabble Days in Beighton, Sheffield a few months ago and one of the projects was to make a lovely little notebook with some stitching done using a sewing machine. After almost fainting when I walked into the room and saw what we were doing, I had a go and loved it. I hadnt used a sewing machine since before I got married, but really enjoyed it.
I cut out 38 squares of Flirtatious fabric using the Scalloped Square Bigz die, ironed interfacing on half and then made a sandwich of a scalloped square, wadding and scalloped square and sewed them together, alternating the colours. The handle is just some of the 1 1/4" striped Melon Mambo ribbon and to finish off, I cut out some flowers using the Fun Flowers Die with buttons sewn to the centre.
Wonder what I can make next....
