Projects from Saturdays Stamptacular

Hi everyone, I am back today with some photos of the projects I demonstrated at our Stamptacular event last Saturday.  The amazing Sara and wonderful Hazel were the other ladies demonstrating the rest of the projects.  These are the items I showed the ladies how to make.

The cone went down a storm and its made using just a 6"x6" square of Double sided paper which was heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  The stamps I used are scrummy - Gorgeous Grunge and Off the Grid.  Here is another photo of it.

The origami flower had a mixed reaction to be fair - I cant see a couple of the ladies making many more of these but they look so effective when they are done.

The last little project was a really simple diaper pouch which literally takes less than 5 minutes to make and would look lovely with a little bag of sweets inside.

Each of the projects uses only a 6" square of double sided paper but they look so impressive when they are done.

Now at the event, each lady received a pack of the papers we used for the project, Modern Medley DSP in their goody bags.  But we knew that some of the ladies wouldn't want to cut into the papers on the day so everyone got lots of sheets of DSP in different colours in their goody bags.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the day - but it was quite warm in the room!!!

We will be having another event soon, so bob back to find out more.

New outfit for Pearl

Hi everyone, I was going to post something different today but I am so excited about what I made yesterday that I just had to show you this.

My Mum lent me her sewing machine the other week, but I decided that whilst I was taking care of her, she needed a name and a new outfit.

Anyway, I have called her Pearl (she is a Singer!) and here is her new dress.

The fabric is from SU and its called Deck the Halls.  Not sure why, its not very Christmassy!  But I like the muted colours.  I know those of you who are into sewing might think its not made very well, but I didn't have a pattern - I just used the plastic case and roughly marked the basic shapes before cutting them out.

To decorate it, I cut out some squares using the SU Scalloped Square die and some flowers from the Fun Flowers die in different colours of the fabric before sewing them on the cover.  The buttons are retired ones I have had for a while and I just stitched them on with some white bakers twine.

Can you tell that I'm a little bit proud of myself?

Getting Giddy

I have had a shocking week at work this week and am soooooo glad its the weekend, yey!!! Me, Sara & Joanne have a stall at the craft fair at Elsecar tomorrow & Sunday so I am finally starting to chill out & look forward to some proper crafty chatting & a play with lots of new people. Hope you have a bit of spare time over the weekend to come an see us. We will have; - a prize draw - make and takes - some handmade items for sale plus a fantastic show SPECIAL OFFER. The show is FREE so bring your freinds & family for a lovely day out! Here is a photo of one of the items I will have for sale.
I bought the box from a craft shop and inked the edges and corners with Pear Pizzaz ink before decorating it to save having to fold the cardstock around the box & lid. The Whisper White cardstock was run through my Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder, inked in Pear Pizzaz ink and then the edges were sponged in ink to soften them. A long length of Pear Pizzaz Seam Binding Ribbon was gathered and then adheared around the lid, then I added embossed butterflies cut from the Beautiful Wings die in Rich Razzleberry cardstock. The sentiment is from Just Believe and was stamped in Rich Razzleberry Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock. I punched the sentiment out using the Decorative Label Punch and then I used the punch twice on Rich Razzlebery card. These were then each cut in half to position them behind the sentiment and provide a coloured border around the sentiment. Sorry this post is a little rushed, I have everything to get ready for tomorrow! Hope you can come and see us for a little chat! Jan x
