Card Candy Swap

Hi everyone
Whilst we were preparing for convention, my lovely SU Mum, Sara, organised one of the Card Candy Swaps and this was the one I made.

It's using a cute stamp set called Warmth and Wonder and lots of other Stampin' Up! dies, embossing folders and punches. Far too many to list here, but if you'd like a list, drop me a line and I will pull one together.

The idea is to make a set of toppers or embellishments similar to what you would buy in a shop. The rules are set early so everyone knows what they need to make their candy as nice as possible.

I'm getting a bit giddy now as I've set up my conservatory for my class tomorrow. We are doing five classy gift wrapping projects and Ive finally managed to (well, almost) set the room up how I planned when we bought the house so there should be plenty of room for us all. Fingers crossed the ladies have a great time...

We will be doing several projects to give your gift giving the real WOW factor.

If you would like to take the last place in the class, please call me on 07795566727 as soon as possible.

The class is from 11 am until 1pm, Sunday 1st December. But we do sometimes overrun on our classes!!! The cost of the class is £10 per person which includes refreshments (and chocolate...)

Convention News...

WOW.  We had a brilliant time in Manchester at the European Convention and I think I have just about got my breath back.

Here is a photo of most of the team, wearing their posh frocks, at the end of the awards night.

There were lots of announcements including the location and dates of the next three convention dates.  They are to be held in Brussels on 16-18 October 2014, 12-14 November 2015 and 17-19 November 2016.   So I have no excuses, now I know how long I have to save up - and get myself on stage!!!

The Incentive Trip for 2015 will be in Portugal, and the threshold for demonstrators to attend has been lowered, so I need to get my finger out if I want an all expenses paid holiday with some of the most talented, creative people you could ever dream to meet.

We have a brand new product called Undefined, where you draw then carve your own stamps.  Here is a link to the details.

The rest of the announcements centred around new products, so unfortunately I cant tell you anything about them...yet.  So, you will just have to bob back soon for details of the new Spring Summer Seasonal Catalogue and Sale-a-bration.

Anyway, here are some photos of the swaps I made for Convention.  This was a little pouch I made for each of our team.

It holds a cute owl nail file, hence the owl on the front.

The pouches were created using strips of in colour card in Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding with the same colours of Ruffle Stretch Trim Ribbon used to secure the pouch.

Then I made some, well, I designed and prepared these card fronts for general swapping.

If it hadn't been for Joanne and Hazel they wouldn't have been finished as they punched out and assembled nearly all of them - and there were 100 all together!!!

Now, I dont know if any of you have tried the new digital package from Stampin' Up! but the bauble image is NOT a conventional stamp, it is a digital stamp.  This is where the image is stored digitally, and when you want to use it, you can just select it, change the size and / or the colour to any of the Stampin' Up! colours.  This makes it so versatile.  You do need to have the paid for version of My Digital Studio though as the Christmas Collectibles digital stamp set is not included in the free trial.

But the absolute best part about the image is that if you print it off at the original size, it fits the Christmas Ornimant Punch perfectly!  Here are the four different colourways of the card fronts I took with me to Manchester.

The 4" square card fronts are cut from Textured 12x12" cardstock in Cherry Cobbler, Indigo Island, Smoky Slate and Old Olive.  Mats of alternate card were cut out and mounted onto the card front using dimentionals and the designer series papers are from Season of Style and Winter Frost - I'm getting good at using DSP now arn't I!?

I will be posting some photos of the other swaps I made later this week, so bob back soon for more photos.

Craft Fair Announcement.

Just a very quick post with regards to the Craft Fair I was planning to do tomorrow in Hemsworth.

I have had to admit defeat and won't be able to make the craft fair - I have been so busy that I really can't spare the time. But - fear not, I am definitely doing the Craft Show at Westfield Sports College on Sunday.

Hope you can make it, too!

Stamp Club Thank You Gifts

It's been rather busy here, but unfortunately not with much crafting. On the plus side we almost have our kitchen - woo hoo!!!

One thing I have found out since the cold weather has hit us, is that having the conservatory as my temporary craft room is not a good idea. It's absolutely freezing in there! Hopefully I will get that sorted soon though.

Anyway, back to crafting. Here are the little gifts I gave to the ladies in my stamp club this month - little butterfly fridge magnets.

The clothes pegs were just covered with a small strip of washi tape ( I used Gingham Garden and Epic Day) and a thin strip of magnetic sheet attached to the back.

To make the toppers I punched out 1 3/4" scalloped circles from gold and silver glimmer paper. The butterflies were punched out of Gingham Garden and Epic Day and This and That designer Series paper using the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches.

The body of the butterflies were punched out of gold and silver glimmer paper. You can't beat a but of sparkle in this damp dreary weather.

For those of you waiting for my newsletter, it will be coming out on Sunday, hopefully with some photos of our Gift Wrapping Class projects. So bob back soon for more details - the class is filling up fast but if you would like come, please contact me as soon as possible.
