Mixed Blossoms

Hi everyone, hope your having a lovely weekend.

Ive had a great week with a brilliant workshop on Thursday where the hostess (Hi Anne!!) managed to earn £110 in free products plus three extra items at half price - WOW!!!  The promotion is on for both June and July, so if you want to get even more freebies, contact me now.

Today I am busy preparing for our team training event which is tomorrow afternoon, but wanted to share a card I made using the lovely Mixed Blossoms stamp set and matching punch.

The butterfly is just the flower image stamped in versamark onto vellum cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder and then punched out with the Blossom Punch.  To make it into a butterfly shape I just cut two of the petals away and mounted it with dimentionals on to a mat of Indigo Island cardstock - but slightly offset to give a border, again cutting away two petals from the mat.  The two petals from the Indigo Island mat are adhered to the top part of the butterfly to make the border all around the butterfly.

I stamped the sentiment and the butterfly body from the Butterfly Prints stamp set in Indigo Island ink onto Whisper White card.  The bottom of the Whisper White car was dry embossed with lines from the Simply Scored board at 1/8 inch intervals.  This was then mounted onto mats of Indigo Island & Whisper White cardstock and Pacific Point Bakers Twine wrapped around it before adding to the Indigo Island card blank.

The butterfly was attached with dimentionals and some Basic Rhinestones added to finish off.

The card we made in the workshop was similar but we just used the flower and one of the flower centre images.  They had a choice of colours, Indigo Island or Pool Party - I think Pool Party won though!.

The sentiment is from Curly Cute and the centre of the flower has a Printed brad through the centre.

Want the chance to get EVEN MORE freebies, book you in home party NOW and we'll get craftin...

Enjoy the weekend!

Love & Laughter

Hi there
Hope your having a nice weekend?

I have been making things for my craft room again - with my hubby's help this time.  I cant wait to show you what it is but its not finished yet so I cant!!

Instead, here is a wedding card I made using some of the Mocha Morning card stock - yes, I have managed to cut into some of it (I cringed when I did LOL!!!).

The flocked card stock is so gorgeous, you just have to stroke it.  I used silver embossing powder with versamark for the sentiment and cake images, and matted the Whisper White, Basic Black and flocked paper on Brushed Silver card stock and finished off with some 1/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon and basic pearls.  I made the card A5 in size which I felt suited the design of the pattern on the flocked paper better than A6.

Well, I tried not to show you what Ian has been making me, but I cant hold it back any more.

I bought a couple of cheap wooden storage boxes years ago for my 12x12 card stock but they only had one shelf each and the depth wasn't quite right so they wernt that practical.  Instead, I just used them for storage.  I had the idea of putting some more shelves in a few weeks ago & Ian had a look to see how he could do it and, hey presto - here it is, my new 12x12" storage unit...

Not only has he put more shelves in, but he has made the shelves deeper, joined the boxes together and now, they have wheels on so I can move them around really easily.

I didn't think I could get more excited, but he even went out this afternoon and bought me another box to extend it even higher!!!  So that'll be another excuse to buy more 12x12" card stock & papers...  Woo Hoo!!!

Thanks for stopping by.

New outfit for Pearl

Hi everyone, I was going to post something different today but I am so excited about what I made yesterday that I just had to show you this.

My Mum lent me her sewing machine the other week, but I decided that whilst I was taking care of her, she needed a name and a new outfit.

Anyway, I have called her Pearl (she is a Singer!) and here is her new dress.

The fabric is from SU and its called Deck the Halls.  Not sure why, its not very Christmassy!  But I like the muted colours.  I know those of you who are into sewing might think its not made very well, but I didn't have a pattern - I just used the plastic case and roughly marked the basic shapes before cutting them out.

To decorate it, I cut out some squares using the SU Scalloped Square die and some flowers from the Fun Flowers die in different colours of the fabric before sewing them on the cover.  The buttons are retired ones I have had for a while and I just stitched them on with some white bakers twine.

Can you tell that I'm a little bit proud of myself?

Scrapbook Class

Wow! what a lovely day I have had today.  Its been my scrapbook class and we had a brilliant time - but we did, sort of run over a bit, well, quite a lot actually!  But everyone had a great time and managed to take their pages home to complete (thanks for coming over ladies ***waves**).

Here is what we did, two 12 x 12" scrapbook pages with a summer theme.

The colours are Regal Rose, Rose Red, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.  I did find some photos of a holiday we had in the Isle of Man in 2007 to add to the pages, but I thought that I would just put the layout on here for you to see.

Right off for a chill out & a cuppa!
Have a great weekend.

Box in a Bag Samples

Morning!  Hope you enjoyed the long weekend - its back to work for me today (sob!).

Remember a couple of weeks ago I mentioned doing a demonstration for Jean at her Dabble Day in Beighton, Sheffield?  Well I have found the photo of the samples I made to take with me on the day.

Here is another using the same DSP (Nursery Nest) but this time using the pattern with the two birds on.  The ribbon on this one is retired now, but it is the same colour as the paper.

The cards everyone made were different (I do apologise, I didnt take a photo of them - sorry).  The ribbon is heated with a heat gun to make it shrivel and curl - this also slightly changes the colour and the ladies loved making them on the day.

I will be showing how to make the flowers at my scrapbooking class this Saturday so bob back soon & I should have some photos for you to see.

Scrapbooking Class

Hi there!
Hope your having a lovely long weekend!  I certainly am as I have been getting ready for my scrapbooking class next Saturday (I know, its not like me to be so organised!)

Here is a sneeky peek of the two 12" x 12" pages we will be making.  I will show the full pages after the event and might even see if I can dig some photos out of the loft to go on the pages!!!

The theme is Summer Days and I wanted to keep them nice and bright and I will also be showing how to make the ribbon roses using the heat gun - first aid box at the ready, then.

The class is on Saturday the 9th June at 12 noon.  I only have two spaces left so you need to let me know ASAP if you would like to come.  Email me now to book your place and I will send you directions.

Oh, and just before I go.  I still have some of the share items left from the Twitterpated Share (details here).  If you just want the ribbons (approx 1 metre of Pleated Satin Ribbon in each of the four colours - Pear Pizzazz, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride & Baja Breeze) they are just £5.95. plus £1 postage.  Email me if you would like them and I will sort out straight away.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
