Twisted Easel Card

Its nearly the weekend, YEY!

I have been travelling around for work this week so not had chance to do that much but here is a card I made using some of the items I had set aside from my crop last week.

Its a twisted easel card and there seem to be lots of them around lately so I cant take any credit for the main design.

The top flowers were done using the 'kissing' technique using Bella Toile and the Flower Accent stamps.  The plum coloured flowers underneath were made using the water spot technique.

To get the twisted shape for the card blank I took a piece of A4 card and trimmed off a 4" strip from the long length and scored it in half.  Then I measured 4" down from one side of the score line and scored from this point back to the main score line.  Once you crease and fold the two score lines you will get the twisted shape - simples!

Recipe
Cardstock = Pretty in Pink, Perfect Plum and Whisper White
Ink = Pretty in Pink, Perfect Plum
Stamps = Flower Accent, Bella Toile, tiny triple flower from Cottage Garden and Occasional Greetings.
Punches = Eyelet Border, Designer Label Large, 1 3/8 - 5/8 Oval Large.
Accessories = Basic Pearls, Whisper White Taffeta ribbon
I have seen double twisted easel cards too but haven't had the chance work out how they are done yet - may need to have a play this weekend!

Studio Sketches

This weather is so nice isnt it - I just love the sunshine.

Well, we have finally recieved details of the location of the Stampin' Up! European Convention - and I am such a giddy kipper!!!  Its going to be in Croydon, just outside London on the 5th and 6th November.  The hotel looks amazing and for two days it will be full to the rafters with crazed crafters (disguised as SU Demonstrators) from all over europe and the US.

Last years convention was held in Frankfurt, Germany and as I hadnt been to one before I made the mistake of thinking I wasnt bothered about going.  BIG mistake - I have regretted it ever since.  But, not this year!!!

Anyway, I have five months to wait until then, so I had bettter come back down to earth for a while.  Here are a few cards I made this week (in between traveling to Lincoln & Margate for work).

The stamp set is lovely - not the usual cutesy sort and its called Studio Sketches. I liked it as soon as it came into the Mini Catalogue, but only got round to getting it recently.

The distressing techniques are ones we used in Sara's Vintage Vogue Class a couple of weeks ago (she has another one planned for 3rd July!).

The text images are created by inking the En Francais backround stamp with Soft Suede ink on to Soft Suede card.

Recipe
Cardstock - Soft Suede, Kraft, Whisper White
Ink - Soft Suede
Stamp Sets - Studio Sketches, En Francais, Occassional Greetings, Bird on a Branch, Sincere Salutations
Accessories - Cutter Kit, Brads & Sponge Daubers, Watercolour Wonder Crayons.

Off back to do more crafting now - have a great weekend.

Brayered Bling

I had a training session the other week with by SU 'MUM' Sara who showed my some different techniques for brayering.  This card was made using four different colours from the Soft Subtles Re-inkers and baby wipes to create the background image.

Its not too clear from the photo, but the background was sprayed using the new Champaigne Shimmer Paint which gives you a beautiful sparkly effect.

The flowers are made using images from the 'Sticky Cuts Sweet' double sided adhesive sheets.  These are 12 X 12 sheets of double sided adhesive die cut letters and images which are purfect for use with glitter.  I have just realised, I seem to be reaching for the glitter a lot lately - I must be turning into my Mum...!

The line below the flower stems is just sticky strip which has been covered in glitter - a really simple idea but gives a lovely straight line.  It also was a cunning plan - as I had a faint line there from the brayering!!!

Recipe
Cardsock - Lovely Lilac, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Stamp set - Occastional Greetings
Accessories - Clear Brads, Glitter - Rose Pink, Orchid and Celery Fine Cosmo, Sticky Cuts Sweet Flowers
Frame from Hodgepodge Hardware

Quick Post

Hi everyone, a quick post today as I am getting everything ready for the craft fair at Felkirk, tomorrow.

I cant believe how quickly its come round, but I am really looking forward to it now.

I have made a few Mothers Day cards and gift boxes for the fair and you can see them in earlier posts by scrolling down.  This is a much more simple design and the stamp image from the Baroque Motifs set is lovely.

The flowers were punched from Pretty in Pink cardstock and I used a drop of Tombow glue in the centre with Rose Pink glitter.

Recipe:
Cardstock - Whisper White & Pretty in Pink.
Ink - Pretty in Pink
Accessories - Regal Rose ribbon, Rose Red Stampin' Glitter, Boho Blossoms Punch.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today, and if you get the chance to bob over to the craft fair to say hello, please do!!

Have a brilliant weekend

Apologies..

I am sorry for not posting for a while, I have been working in Birmingham & Newcastle this week and had some VERY long days.  Anyway, whinge over!  Here are some Easter cards I made last week using the Special Blessings set.
The dove and cross images were stamped using versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
The cross image was stamped and emossed twice and one of them cut out, just inside the outside line.  Then this image was mounted on dimentionals leaving the outline line of the first full image showing underneath.  The detailing on the stamps is lovely, I can see many more of these images appearing on here soon - I really like this set!!!

Recipe
Stamp sets - Special Blessings, Occasional Greetings
Cardstock - Bashfull Blue, Ballet Blue & Whisper White
DSP - Bashfull Blue
Ink - Versamark, Brocade Blue
Accessories - White embossing powder, flowers and brad from Pretties Kit, Brocade Blue ribbon.
Punches - Large oval, Scalloped Oval.
No SU - Die cutter

I will post some more images using this set shortly!

Thanks for taking the time to lok at my blog.

So simple

I was having a bit of crafting cramp when I started this card.  Then glanced at one of the shelves in my craft room and noticed the glitter....

The background is stamped with Perfect Plum ink and then a dot of Tombow glue was added to the centre & Orchid glitter sprinkled on top.  I am always dubious using glitter - I always end up wearing it for a week after using it - but I was surprised at how this card turned out!

Recipe;
Cardstock - Blush Blossom, Whisper White, Purfect Plum
Stamp sets - Occasional Greetings, Itty Bitty Buds
Ink - Blush Blossom, Perfect Plum, Mellow Moss
Accessories - Whisper White Satin Ribbon, Soft Subtles button, Word Window punch, Orchid Fine Cosmo Glitter, pearls from the Pretties Kit.

Well, back to work on Monday (Sob).  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Simple Crimble

Heres a card I made in about 10 minutes!!

I used the swirl stamp and stamped the image twice onto a panel of Whister White card - flipping it over for the second image.

The Poinsettia images were stamped out and then trimmed leaving a white outline then mounted on Dimensionals.

A couple of the small flowers were stamped in Real Red next to the swirls and then matted and layered the panel onto Real Red cardstock.  The Poinsettias were then added, slightly overlapping the panels.

The sentiment is from Occasional Greetings (a brilliant selection of stamps covering almost all occasions!) and is just matted onto Real Red cardstock.

This has to be the quickest card I have ever done!!!
