Sympathy Card

A friend asked me the other day for a sympathy card which to be honest is something I very rarely make.

I got the stamp set a while ago as I had heard about a stamping method which looked like a watercoloured image and thought the Close as A Memory set was going to a good set to try the technique.

Here is the card I made.

The main image is coloured in using markers and then I sprayed it with a water sprayer before stamping onto Whisper White cardstock.

Thinking about it later I think I should have stamped off the image first to remove some of the ink, then sprayed with water before stamping the image.  Having said that I really do like the result.

Recipe;
Cardstock - Whisper White, Blush Blossom, Perfect Plum & Pale Plum
Ink - Perfect Plum, Pale Plum & Mellow Moss markers
Accessories - Whisper White Ribbon.

Thanks for taking the time to visit.

Happy Award!

My amazing Stampin' Up 'Mum' and friend, Sara has given me this award!!!.

The idea is that I tell you 10 things that make me happy, then pass it on to 5 more blogging buddies who do the same (all of us linking back to the person who sent it to us and forward to those we're passing it to).

Mmmm - 10 things that make me happy

1) My Hubby, Ian (but dont tell him!)
2) Chocolate
3) Getting my SU order delivered and opening the box!!
4) Reading good comments on my blog
5) Our cat, Mrs Miggins, coming for a tickle - she is a little bit timid (well almost ferral, really) so its lovely when she comes to see us.
6) Meeting up with friends
7) Watching World Superbikes, MotoGP and British Superbikes
8) Riding on the back of a motorbike (doesnt happen much now though SOB!

Mums Day Card

Hi there.  I havent used this stamp set for ages - dont know why, I love it its so cute.

I used an embossing folder to give the Whisper White card some texture as I didnt want to detract from the main image.

The flowers were a bit of a challenge... The other week I tried to do some brayering (which failed!) but I did like the colour.  Being a bit tight and not wanting to waste the cardstock, I stamped the flower image from the 'One of a Kind' stamp set in Versamark and heat embossed it using white embossing powder.  I then punched them out with my Boho Blossoms punch.  They were then layered up using dimentionals and a Rhinestone brad secured in the centre.

Recipe;
Cardstock - Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, More Mustard
Stamp Set - Forest Friends
Inks - Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie & Summer Sun reinkers for the brayering (flowers)
Accessories, Boho Blossoms Punch, Brayer, Rhinestone Brads, White Embossing Powder
Non SU - Embossing folder & scalloped die.

Have a great weekend!

Bella Toile Tissue Box

Hi there!

Another busy week, lots of driving around - but its nearly the weekend Yaaaaaay!

Here is another tissue box cover.  I am still frantically making things for the craft fair next Sat (6th March).  I am just hoping that people come now LOL.

The stamp I used for this is huge (11.4 x 14.6 cm) but the detailing is absolutely incredible.  One thing I really like with SU stamps is that the rubber stamps are deeply etched, so you dont get parts of the image missing when you lift the stamp.  And with the size of these stamps that is something you DONT want!!!

I was thinking of colouring in some of the flowers and leaves but didnt want to spoil it, what do you think?

Recipe
Cardstock - Whisper White, Real Red.
Stamp sets - Bella Toile, Flight of the Butterfly.
Accessories - Real Red ribbon
Punches - Butterfly & Eyelet Border
Non SU - oval and scalloped oval die cuts.

Thanks for visiting.

Special Blessings!

Here are some more cards using the Special Blessings stamp set (see I told you didn't I!).

The images made the same way as yesterdays post, but for the dove I cut out an extra wing and mounted it behind the main image which I thought looked lovely.

The sentiments are aligned using my Stamp-A-Ma-Gig (there is no way I could do without this!).  The Designer Series Paper is called Tea & Crumpets and is so sweet.

Recipe
Cardstock - Pretty in Pink
Ink - Versamark, Rose Red
Stamp set - Special Blessings
DSP - Tea & Crumpets
Accessories - White Embossing Powder, Window Punch
Non SU - die cutter.
Thanks for visiting - hope you are having a great weekend?!

Apologies..

I am sorry for not posting for a while, I have been working in Birmingham & Newcastle this week and had some VERY long days.  Anyway, whinge over!  Here are some Easter cards I made last week using the Special Blessings set.
The dove and cross images were stamped using versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
The cross image was stamped and emossed twice and one of them cut out, just inside the outside line.  Then this image was mounted on dimentionals leaving the outline line of the first full image showing underneath.  The detailing on the stamps is lovely, I can see many more of these images appearing on here soon - I really like this set!!!

Recipe
Stamp sets - Special Blessings, Occasional Greetings
Cardstock - Bashfull Blue, Ballet Blue & Whisper White
DSP - Bashfull Blue
Ink - Versamark, Brocade Blue
Accessories - White embossing powder, flowers and brad from Pretties Kit, Brocade Blue ribbon.
Punches - Large oval, Scalloped Oval.
No SU - Die cutter

I will post some more images using this set shortly!

Thanks for taking the time to lok at my blog.

Time is running out...

Hi there!
Here is a card made using some of the free stamp sets you can earn by spending £45 or more on Stampin Up! products, Good Neighbours  & Vintage Labels.  Dont forget, these stamps are ONLY available until the 28th February.  If you want to get your hands on them you need to get your skates on so email me ASAP!

The houses and some of the trees were stamped, cut out and then placed onto Whisper White cardstock to help me decide on their final positions.  I stamped some trees straight onto the card and then secured the cut out images on to the card, raising some on dimentionals to give depth.

The sentiment was stamped and punched out using a 1" curcle punch and doodled lines were hand drawn inside the circle.  The label was stamped and cut out, then coloured using my markers.

Recipe;
Cardstock - More Mustard & Whisper White
Ink - Basic Grey, Earth Elements Stampin Spots, Marvelous Markers.
Stamp sets - Good Neighbours & Vintage Labels
Ribbon - Chocolate Chip & More Mustard.

Thanks for stopping by!
