Another crazy week where I seem to have been going in circles. Tidied out my craft room so I can actually get in - which does help. Got a new phone (scarey for me...) still cant get used to that predictive text thingy. Have to keep re texting people to apologise! But -the most exciting part was getting my delivery Wah Hoo!! Soooo happy with the Earth Elements re inkers (small bottles of ink that can be used to replenish the stamp pads, colour glitter and watercolour). I havent had much luck with in the past with watercolouring but have really enjoyed playing today!!! Here is my first attempt at watercolouring with the Aqua Painters and reinkers - using one of the largest stamps I have ever seen!!! Its a free gift for hostesses hosting a qualifying workshop. I wasnt sure about it when it came in my delivery as it is very big but the detail is stunning! The colours on the flower look different on the photo (I am not good with technology). Will have to have a play using other colours for different effects me thinks... Its been a busy week for me. I have been working on London (and having to drive - through the city centre!!!). Just about recovered enough to post on my blog.

Stampin' Up! Summer Design Challenge.

Create a summer inspired project using Stampin’ Up! products from the current Idea Book & catalogue 2008-2009 and submit before 31 August 2009 for your chance to win SU stamp sets.

The first prize is £150 worth of SU stamp sets (there are two runner up prizes of £50 worth of SU stamp sets).

Winners will also have their names and projects posted on Stampin’ Up!’s web site in October!!! (There's also a separate single prize for Demonstrator's so we won't be competing against you).

Summer Design Challenge Rules
Projects must be created using only Stampin' Up! products.
Only one project per participant will be accepted.
Projects can be cards, home decor, scrapbook pages, or 3D items.
All projects must be summer-themed.
Projects must be unique, and created for the Summer Design Challenge. Do not just recycle your old projects.
A list of products used must be included with the project submission.
Full contact information, including your full name, address, phone number, and e-mail address must be included with the project submission.

Peek-a-boo Box

I saw a tutorial for a really cute little Peek-a-boo Box on the Split Coast Stampers website the other day and just HAD to have a go. Although the finished box is a little small, it is a perfect gift box for a pair of ear rings and looks so sweet!

Cardstock - Bashful Blue

DSP - Sweet Always

Stamp set - A Rose is a Rose

Ink - Regal Rose, Rose Red

Accessories - Whipser White teffeta ribbon, circle punch

Non SU - Acetate

Here is another box I made recently (having caught the box & bag making bug! - Thanks Sara!).

I made a mistake when glueing the DSP to the box and put the glue on the wrong side!! so I felt that it needed a bold design to brighten it up.

The bow didn't look right on its own so I decided to have a try at using punches to make a flower.

To make the flower focal point, I used the scallop circle and punched 5 circles and folded them following the instructions in the Stampin Techniques sheet in the May 2009 Impressions leaflet.

Once I had glued them into position, I used the 5 petal flower and a gem to finish it off. I was impressed with the result and love the colours.

After attending a brilliant box and bag making class last week with Sara Stamper (my upline) I was inspired to carry on.

Here is one of the boxes I made (being adventurous and designed my own template!). I used two A4 sheets of card and just over half a sheet of DSP. If you would like photos of the steps please email me.
