Craft Class

Fancy a bit of you time in the company of some lovely crafters?Well, here is a photo of our next craft class items.

I don't think I'll be fully germ free to do the class this Saturday and its a little too close to the New Year for some, so the class will be on the 10th January. However, I do need those attending to confirm attendance by Saturday 3rd January. This is to ensure that I can order the items needed in time for the class the following week.

The cost of the class is £10 per person and includes all materials and use of tools etc.

Please confirm ASAP if you are coming to the class and I will order the items needed.

Well, I did try to post this on Weds but for some reason my post wouldn't work.

Remember the Stars Class I did in November, well here is a photo of the finished project.

All I did was make holes in the stars and hang them on elastic cord before suspending them in our window.

The photo doesn't really do them justice as the light is quite bright outside but you can see the idea.

Hope you and your families had a wonderful Christmas.

Gift Bags for South Hill Designs Social

Sorry I've been all over the shop the last month or two (and I have been poorly lately which hasn't helped). But here's a photo of some of the gift bags I made for the ladies who came to the South Hill Designs Jewellery party I had the other week.

Now, some of the items are retired now but the gift bags are still current and are amazing. Food quality, measure 8.9x6.4x20.4 cm. they are really sturdy too. £5.50 for 10 so only 55p each. I love them so much I've ordered loads more!!!

Thanks for looking

Stars Class Kits

Hi there.

Had lots of South Hills Designs parties and events over the last few weeks which has taken up lots of my time but I had a 'eureka' moment today and just had to have a little play.

We had our Stars Class last weekend where I showed the ladies how to assemble and decorate the 26 stars in the Many Merry Stars kit. We talked about ways of making the stars into gift boxes and this afternoon whilst driving to see Sara at the Wortley Hall Craft Fair I suddenly came up with an idea.

Instead of assembling them using all the tabs on the side strip to each point on the stars I cut some of the tabs off before assembly and here they are.

These are the boxes closed.

And here they are open.

The strips already have the adhesive on you just peal off the adhesive tape. This is how I cut the tabs off the strips.

The opening is quite small but it does allow you to get items inside- I will probably pad out the boxes with some tissue paper when I put gifts in. But if your filling with sweets it probably won't need anything.

Hope your having a great weekend.

Commission for 40th Anniversary.

I had a commission to make a 40th wedding anniversary card last week and here is the finished card.

It is a 8x8" card blank from my stash and I used Real Red ink and cardstock to decorate.

I used the hearts stencil and a sponge dauber to add the red hearts to the card blank making the hearts at the top darker than the bottom.  Then I used crystal effects on the hearts to give dimension and shine.

The hearts were die cut from Real Red and White cardstock then the flowers from Bloom with Hope stamped in Real Red ink before matting them onto the card blank.  I was very brave and stamped the 40th Anniversary by 'eyeballing' it (I forgot where I had put my stamp a ma jig!!!).  The 'happy' was stamped on a scrap of card then punched out with the Whats up punch (arrows).

The ribbon is just some from my stash as I couldnt find any real red (memo to self, tidy up the craft room!!!).
Table built using Stampin' Up! Product Table Builder from The Crafty Owl.

I stamped the inside of the card (sorry, I forgot to take a photo of the inside (doh!) but you can see the stamped image on the envelope.

Don't forget, the early bird registration for the Stars Class (here) closes on Monday evening.  After then the class fee goes up £5.  Here is a reminder of the Stars Class project.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Very Many Stars Class

Like stars? Want to make some lovely Christmas decorations?

Here is a brand new kit from Stampin Up! With 26 stars ranging from 38cm right down to 5cm.

Here's the set of stars I made using the kit which costs just £23.95.

Everything you need (except for adhesive) is included in the kit.

If you would like to learn how to make the stars, I am holding a class on 22nd November at 11am to 1pm. Now, one thing you do need to know, you will only finish 4-5 stars in the class - once you know how to make the stars you can finish them at home. I took about a day and a half to make them all up.

The Early Bird cost of the class is £30 if you book with me by the 10th of November.

The cost includes the full kit and adhesives to assemble the items in the class. Refreshments are also included.

I have to order the kits in time for the class so will be putting the order in for the 11th November.

Order after the 11th November and the cost of the class will be £35 (as I will need to order more kits and there will be an extra delivery charge).

Book early to get the best deal so contact me now to reserve your place.

I'm back and crafting

Well, what can I say about Brussels..? Amazing, absolutely amazing.

The hotel was breathtaking. Here are a few photos.

Here's a couple of pics of my room.

Gorgeous, isn't it. Almost as good as the waffles,

Oh, and then there was Convention!

Not once but twice on stage - after five years attending, I finally made it. Just wish I had taken a photo on stage of the audience so I could keep looking at them - it went so quickly.

I'm all fired up now I'm back and have spent all weekend crafting and catching up with friends so bob back soon for details of my next classes - wait till you see the star class!

Phew, I've finally got everything sorted for my trip to Brussels for the 2014 European Stampin Up! Convention. 120 swaps done (more than I'd planned but hoping to get some nice ones back.

Here are the ones I made.

Now, normally when I make batches of cards I start to get a bit fed up but these cuties are so sweet I just kept going.

The dog card uses
Hot Diggity Dog stamp set, Neutrals DSP, Homemade Holiday Framelits dies (I cut the chimneys off to make tags) and Chocolate Chip ink. A mini brad is used to the top of the tag.

The cat card has
You Little Furball stamp set, Brights DSP, Homemade Holiday framelits and Pumpkin Pie ink.

I'll post more photos of the Framelits when I get back so come back soon got details.

Class Wreath

I've been flat out lately but here's a photo of the wreath I made in Saturdays class.

I used the last of my Mocha Morning DSP and although it was REALLY difficult to glue together, I love the result.

Each of the 3" circles were cut into the centre and then made into a cone shape. The cones were attached using a hot glue gun - and I only burnt myself once!!!

Here's a photo of a wreath I made a few years ago, it's made using 3" squares and is the same method the ladies used to make their wreaths in the class. Hope you had a nice time ladies?

Opps, I forgot to post this...

Arn't I naughty!?

I have been so busy I forgot to update my blog (again) with the card we made in the last class.  Well, it wasn't really a class, we just met up for a play and this is what we made.

I love this little set, and the card will be perfect for a friend who is going on holiday at Christmas (cos they dont like all the tinsel and glitter...)

Here are the items I used along with Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White and Mellon Mambo cardstock.

Table built using Stampin' Up! Product Table Builder from The Crafty Owl.

Hope you are having a great weekend?  I have been doing a bit of crafting with my sewing machine and made a cover for a mannequin I'm using to display my South Hill Designs Lockets, so its been lovely.

Trouble is, I now cant decide which locket to display on it - round or diamond shaped...?  Comments would be really appreciated, please!

Sneak Peek!

Hi there.  Here is a photo of a card I made recently using some of the fabby new products from the Stampin' Up! Autumn Winter Catalogue.  I posted out the catties to my club ladies and regular customers last week but if you would like a copy too, just let me know and I will bob one in the post to you.

Demonstrators could order from the new catty from the beginning of August, but customers have to wait a few more days (28th August).   I delayed this months club order so they can get their hands on the brand new stuff as soon as possible.

Here is the card

I used a gorgeous stamp set called Seasonally Scattered and a new embossing folder called Filigree Frame as it just fit nicely around the image.  To stamp the image, I used the Baby wipe technique with three colours of ink, Pistachio Pudding, Old Olive and Garden Green.  To be honest, this image looks so much nicer when stamped in a single colour as the detail is amazing, but the baby wipe technique was something a little different.

Wondering where I got the Old Olive Basic Rhinestones?  They are clear ones that I coloured with an Old Olive Blendability marker!!!  So you can colour coordinate even more - I love that, it saves SOOOO much time and money!

Hope you are having a great weekend?  Mine has been lovely, on Saturday I went to Leeds Corn Exchange with the lovely Hazel and we had a great day chatting to people about our other little venture, South Hill Designs.  Thanks for coming to see us ladies, we had a fab time and everyone loved the lockets and jewelry

Heres a photo of our tables.

And a bit more news... I have decided at long last to go to the Stampin' Up! Convention in Brussels - Woo Hoo!!!  Im blaming Hazel for making me go though....

Sparkling Birthday

Told you I'd be back with some of my projects didn't i!?

My niece joined me with South Hill Designs and here is the card I made for her birthday. Happy Birthday, Rachel

I used Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities markers to colour the Blended Bloom flower - and also to colour the glitter!!!

I showed my ladies how to do this in last weeks class, it's really easy and looks fab.

Not seen the sentiment 'sparkle' before? Well it's a stamp you won't get to see for a while but as demonstrators we got the chance to earn it free last month - keep you eye out for it being available soon.

Hope your having a great weekend.

Well, I'm another year older and I think I'm getting a little wiser - with some things...

I'm also starting to get my crafting mojo back as I had a play after our class last Saturday! Got some more new goodies from the SU Autumn Winter cattie too so my fingers are twitching as the urge to get in my craft room gets stronger.

Anyway. Here are some if the beautiful birthday cards I received. Firstly a stunning card and box from my lovely friend and amazing crafter Shirley.

I cant seem to create a link to her blog on my phone but this should take you there.

And another card and box from my SU Mum, Sara.

Here's Sara's blog. http://craftingandstamping.com

There's no wonder I'm getting my mojo back being surrounded with all these amazing crafters!!

Stampers Club Thank You Cards

Hello.
Just a post to let you know I'm still here and have actually done some crafting this week - woo hoo!

Thought I'd get some practice in using the new alcohol markers from Stampin' Up! Blendabilities.

I delivered all the goodies from our Stampers Club yesterday so I know everyone's seen it now and I won't spoil the surprise.

The stamp set us called Vivid Vases and as we're having such gorgeous summer weather I wanted to use bright cheerful colours.

I'm having a Blendabilities Class on Saturday 9th August wher you will learn 12 different techniques on using them. The class starts at 11am and should take 2-3 hours but I have to know your coming so book your place ASAP.

So much to tell you!

Oh, my word. Have I been a busy bee lately  - So busy that I haven't had the time to blog at all (I know, I know that's nothing new...).

Firstly, I start my new job on the 14th July - really excited, but sooooo nervous.  We have managed to get more decorating done in the house and now that I don't have to keep to boring neutral colours, I have been very getting very adventurous.

Then there is the new Stampin' Up! catalogue.  I have received my new catties through the post today and its has some brilliant new products.  My Club ladies are going to love getting their catalogues when I deliver their orders - brace yourselves girls...!

I have also been getting familiar with my new venture at South Hill Designs - there are some amazing promotions at the end of this post so if you want the chance to get some free products from their range of gorgeous lockets and charms, read the end of the post for more info.

Anyway, enough of my whaffle.  Here is the birthday card I made for my SU Mum Sara.

I cut out two Label Card Framelits and embossed one before flipping it upside down and adhering to the back section of the other.  Here are the items I used, if you would like to find out more, just click on the item.
