I've Been Naughty

I know, blogging has had to take a back seat lately as I have had so much going off lately, sorry about that.  The house is still a building site, with at least another 3 weeks without a kitchen.  We have had the wood burning stove installed though which is lovely.

I had a bit of a mishap in the car this week - a motorway sign decided to launch itself at me, thankfully it hit the bumper and headlight so they were the only things damaged - it could have been much worse if I hadn't braked when I did as it looked like it was heading for the windscreen...  I have also been ridiculously busy with work which hasn't helped.

Anyway, I should have posted this before but it is the project we did at Jeans Dabble Day, a Stepper Box.

This is the inside when its opened up, the four little drawers are the perfect size to hold ear rings, jewellery
or even sweets.

And here are some more ready to go.  Thanks for a great day Jean, see you soon ladies!

Have a great weekend - I will post soon with the lovely new stuff from the Autumn Winter Catalogue.

Team Training Swaps.

Hope you had a great weekend, I certainly did. We welcomed a wonderful team member back into the fold (welcome back Shirley, we all missed you!) and I spent lots of time chatting with people about SU - you know I can do that for England though!

We had our team training on Sunday with lots of our merry group of crafters getting together for a natter. Here is a photo of the card I made for my swaps, using the stamp set Gently Falling.

Can you see the sneak peek item coming soon? Look at the gorgeous ribbon at the bottom... It's called Burlap Ribbon and can come to your craft stash soon as it will be available for customers to buy from the end of August.

The card blank is A6 in size and I used Neutrals Ivory. The solid image leaf shapes were stamped in Baked Brown Sugar, Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake ink and then using the Two Step Stamping technique, I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the 'vein' images over the top of each leaf in a darker shade. Each leaf was then cut out and put to one side.

The burlap ribbon was attached to the card blank with stick strip and the individual leaves arranged on top. To finish off I used a tiny safety pin from Vintage Trinkets.

I'm quite chuffed with the card and am glad I made a few spare ones as its always handy to have cards ready for emergencies!

It's back to work for me now, so thanks for stopping by, I will be back soon with another sneak peak from the new Autumn Winter Catalogue...

Crafty Holiday

Look at me using Designer Series Papers! Yep, I did it, I managed to cut into some Eastern Elegance papers - the colours are gorgeous and I would never have thought they would work together, but they really do.

I actually started to use the papers for swaps at our Team Meeting this Sunday, but I changed my mind and made some birthday cards instead.

To start i used Smokey Slate ink on Whisper White card to stamp the Wildflower Meadow image then embossed it with the matching embossing folder (the flowers have a little bit of Dazzling Details to add a touch of bling).

The Crushed Curry scalloped edges were attached to the sides of the stamped image and then I added a strip of the Eastern Elegance DSP before attaching it to the 6x6" Smokey Slate card blank.

The sentiment is stamped in Smokey Slate ink (from Label Something) on whisper white card and punched out with the Artisan Label punch. It was then mounted on a Crushed Curry coloured Decorative Label punched shape.

It makes a nice change for me to have some spare birthday cards ready - I normally leave it til the last minute and panic so it's nice to be organised for a change.

Fancy coming to our team training on Sunday? Just let me know if you would like to come and I will save you a place.

Busy Bee

Hello!

Well, I have been a busy bee.  I now have samples of all the new goodies out of the new Annual Catalogue in my SAMPLE BOOK!!!

Yep, I have totally updated it with all the scrummy new papers (they, really are gorgeous this year) ribbons, buttons and kits, so I have lots to look at again.  I do love my sample book, here are some of the pages in all their glory.

New In Colour papers, ribbons, buttons and cardstock.

Some of the beautiful Designer Series Papers and details of coordinating cardstock.

Some of the lovely accessories, buttons, clips and brads.

The gorgeous DSPs are on offer this month too if you fancy getting some for FREE?

If you buy three packs of DSP you will get an extra one for free (this doesn't include the speciality papers but its a cracking offer) I just had to take advantage of it when I put in my last order... Well, it would have been rude not to wouldnt it!?

There is also the Best of Sets for this month, called Best of Shelli

Now, as a demonstrator with Stampin' Up! we get to see the new catalogues before our customers, and it just so happens, I have also joined a share of items from the new Autumn Winter Catalogue... (its the Christmas one!!!).

This means that in the next few weeks I will have even more samples to go into my Sample Book.  If you would like to book a craft party and have a look through the Sample Book, contact me now arrange it on 07795566727.

I have also sorted out a new Newsletter (but I am not 100% sure that the newsletter is working ok?).  Hopefully I will get people letting me know if there are any problems soon.  I am not the most technical person, so if you have received my newsletter today and there are any issues, I would appreciate it if you could let me know about it please?

Anyway, I am off to sort out some things for my class, next Saturday.

Backgrounds Technique Class,
10am to 12 noon
Shafton, Barnsley.

If you would like to book your place, contact me ASAP so I can reserve your place.  The cost of the class is £10 or £8 for my team members and includes refreshments and all materials required.

Have a great week

Projects from Saturdays Stamptacular

Hi everyone, I am back today with some photos of the projects I demonstrated at our Stamptacular event last Saturday.  The amazing Sara and wonderful Hazel were the other ladies demonstrating the rest of the projects.  These are the items I showed the ladies how to make.

The cone went down a storm and its made using just a 6"x6" square of Double sided paper which was heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  The stamps I used are scrummy - Gorgeous Grunge and Off the Grid.  Here is another photo of it.

The origami flower had a mixed reaction to be fair - I cant see a couple of the ladies making many more of these but they look so effective when they are done.

The last little project was a really simple diaper pouch which literally takes less than 5 minutes to make and would look lovely with a little bag of sweets inside.

Each of the projects uses only a 6" square of double sided paper but they look so impressive when they are done.

Now at the event, each lady received a pack of the papers we used for the project, Modern Medley DSP in their goody bags.  But we knew that some of the ladies wouldn't want to cut into the papers on the day so everyone got lots of sheets of DSP in different colours in their goody bags.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the day - but it was quite warm in the room!!!

We will be having another event soon, so bob back to find out more.

Team Training Swap

Hi everyone
we had our team training last Sunday and it was certainly a busy one!  I think there were about 16 of us all together and we aren't shy when it comes to having fun.  Im not quite sure if we managed to control everyone but thats what getting together is all about - FUN.

Here is the swap I made using the Card Base Pop 'n Cuts die.  Its not just for making card blanks - here I used it to make a gift card holder which will come in handy at Christmas time!!!

And can you see what I did - I used some DSP!!! yey.  Now, I do have a real problem cutting into our papers as they are so lovely.  But i had my brave head on and did it, and Im so proud of myself.

Here is a photo of the inside with a gift card inside and the belly band.

I made them using a couple of colourways - one with Very Vanilla as the base with Pumpkin Pie and the other with Whisper White and Daffodil Delight.  The DSP is called Quatrefancy and includes two clear window sheets with a beautiful white printed pattern - now, I just know I wont be able to use this!

Can you see the little four petal flower shapes on the front of the holder?  Well, there is a set of three tiny punches in the Annual Catalogue called Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and the four petal flower fits perfectly around some of the images on the DSP!

I cant take any credit for the gift card holder as I saw it on a US demonstrators website (Catherine Harwood - 321stamp.typepad.com).  Basically, you cut out the card base and score it on the long edge at 1", 3" and 7 1/2" and use sticky strip to hold the sides of the gift card holder in place.

Hope you have a great weekend, we are having our Summer Stamptacular tomorrow and I cant wait - we have a great time at these events and the projects will be stunning!

Rotherham Class

Hi everyone!  Hope you are enjoying this gorgeous weather? I certainly am.

Now, I do apologise for the photos on this post today, I dont have any where to take photos at the minute (and with the house the way it is, I wont have for a few weeks).  Anyway, here is the card we made at Wednesdays card class at The Keppels in Rotherham (hi ladies!).
Here is the inside.
We did much better on time this week (I was there over 3 hours last time!!!) and the ladies seemed to enjoy making the card and decorating the dresses.  Just to show them how they could adapt the card just by making a few changes, here is a sample of a double pop up card I made.

To be honest, it didn't take much longer to do the double pop up - and I love how it turned out.

Dont forget, we are taking bookings for our next all day Stamptaculay (on 27th July) and we have our Team Training event this Sunday so if you fancy coming to either event, just let me know and I will reserve you a place.

Have a brilliant weekend
