Mums Christmas Card

Hi there, I'm back with another post - and it's my first one using my new iPad! Hopefully this will work ok...
Here is a photo of my Mums Christmas card. As those of you who know my Mum will be fully aware of, she is a bit of a fan of glitter - and has been known to sprinkle it in her hair during classes when she thought I wasn't looking!!!

I used Garden Green card stock to make an A5 card blank and cut strips of Garden Green DSP, adhering them down the centre.
The tree image and the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Christmas Lodge stamp set were stamped onto Whisper White card with Garden Green ink. Then I cut into some Silver Glimmer Paper (I know, I actually cut into it!) and ran it through the big shot with the Oval Accent Bigz die and the Apothecary Accents Frameilts dies.
The stamped images were adhered using Dimensionals and voila, a really quick card guaranteed Mum would love 'cos there's some glitter involved!
Well, if I don't get a chance to post on here before Tuesday, I wish you and yours a very Happy New Year!

Christmas Wreath

Hi everyone!!  I really hope you had a lovely Christmas.  I have been trying to update my blog, but have had some 'technical issues'.

Anyway, enough of that, Santa was very good to me this year and I got lots of goodies to play with - plus some money so I can buy some of the brand new products Stampin' Up! will let us buy from the Spring Summer Catalogue next week.  As demonstrators we get to see the new catalogues (and buy some of them) before customers see them - it'll be like Christmas all over again when they are delivered!

Anyway here is a wreath I've been itching to make for ages but I couldn't get a base the size I wanted.

But thanks to Andrea at Home Farm Crafts, she sorted the base out for me, thanks Andrea!!!  Its really simple to make and took about 7 12x12" sheets of First Edition Designer Series Paper - I want to be able to see it all year round so didn't make it Christmassy.

Hope to be back soon with some photos of more projects (technology permitting...).

Christmas Card

Hi there.  Hope you are ready for the Big Man coming on Tuesday? I cant wait..

Here is a quick post to show you some cards I made using the Glimmer Paper and the Holiday Ornaments Framelits.

The card blank is Real Red and I trimmed a Very Vanilla mat of card to fit slightly smaller than the card front.  I used the Festive Paper Piercing Pack to pierce tiny holes around where the bauble was going to be.

I cut out a bauble in Real Red Glimmer Paper, punched a scalloped circle from Champagne Glimmer Paper and mounted this to the centre of the bauble.  I made a bow from Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon and used glimmer brads to secure it at the top of the bauble.

The Sentiment is from a lovely set called Christmas Lodge and was stamped onto the Very Vanilla card in Real Red ink.  I attached the Very Vanilla card mat onto the Real Read card blank then added a thin strip of Champagne Glimmer Paper close to one edge.

The bauble was mounted on Dimentionals to the area pierced with the bauble shape and to finish off I stamped the round image from the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set, punched it out using the 1" circle punch and added it to the centre of the scalloped circle in the centre of the bauble.

Well, I do hope you have a super Christmas.

Bye for now

Swaps from Team Training

Hi there!
As promised, here are some photos of the swaps I made for our team training last Sunday.

Here is the same card, but using different colours.
I am so proud I managed to use some of my Designer Series Papers too - I normally just sit and stroke it - but I managed to die cut the flowers using my new Folded Flowers Bigz XL die.  There are actually four different sizes of flowers on the die, but the largest one was too big to fit on the 4" square card!

To make the card blank I cut the card to 4" x 12" and scored at 4" and 8" using my Simply Scored Board.  Then I put the Diagonal Board on top of the simply scored board and scored diagonally from the top corner down to the first 4" scoreline and then at the 8" mark, down to the bottom point of the 12" card blank.

Here is a photo of the card with the ribbon undone.
And another looking directly from the top of the card.
If you would like me to give you some more instructions, please let me know by leaving a comment.

The Designer Series Paper I used is called Twitterpated and it is definately one of my favourates.

Have you worked out how I made the centre of the flowers?  They are bottle tops that I flattened by running through the Big Shot and then I pressed them into some Versamark and sprinkled white embossing powder on top.  The bottle tops were then heated using a heat tool which melts the embossing powder and is a great way of changing the colour of any embellishment (metal, card or even chipboard) and the finish is lovely and shiny.

The stamped image inside the center of the bottle top is stamped using one of the flower images from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and then punched out with a 1" circle punch.

Have you got any plans for the weekend?  I have to do all my christmas shopping and put the tree and trimmings up so it will be a busy one for me.

Hope you have a great weekend

I'm Still Here, Honest!

I know, I have been very quiet on here again, haven't I?  But I have been busy crafting and with work - honest!

The trouble is all the items I have been making have been for people who access my blog, so I darnt post things until I know the cards have definitely been received.

Last weekend I found a big pack of nice papers and die cut toppers, I have no idea where they came from but I decided to get them used up, thinking that as all the papers and toppers matched I would have some quick cards ready in not time.  How wrong could I be?  It took HOURS to make a few cards as none of the ribbons and accessories I have in my non Stampin' Up! stash matched in colour or looked 'right'.  In the end I threw everything in a big box - no doubt I will find them next year and try again, but what a total waste of time and energy!!!

Anyway, I did have some success with using up some of the Card Candy I made for Convention in Germany.  Here are three of the cards I made to cheer myself up after wasting so much time with the 'kit' last weekend.

Quite simple designs for all three but after using up so much energy it was nice not to have to think too much.

Here's another one using the card candy

Here is a photo of the packaged Card Candy so you can see the general idea.

Basically, the idea is to make a number of toppers and package them similarly to how you would see in a shop.  Here is a link to the original post, with a list of the items I used.

OK, I'm off to chill out now as its been another busy weekend.  I will post photos of the swaps from our team training in a day or two, I promise!!!

November Thank You Cards

Hi everyone,
I thought I would post a photo of the thank you cards I sent to everyone who ordered from me this month (I hope I don't spoil the surprise to those who haven't seen them yet!).

I made a 4" square Basic Black card blank and cut 3 1/2" square mats of Designer Series Paper (I know - I am so proud of myself, I normally just sit and stroke the papers!!!).  Now, this DSP is called International Bazaar and I managed to get it free (well, I get a pack free every month for another 5 months actually) as I had a new lady join my team (Hi Jemma ***waves***).  Jemma also gets a pack free every month for the next five months too - and so can you if you join my team before the end of November.  The papers are from Stampin' Up! and I also have another free gift for you too if join during this promotion - click here to find out more.

Ok, back to the card, the square stamped image is stamped in Versamark onto Basic Black card and then Tangerine Tango embossing powder was sprinkled on top, the excess tapped off and then it was heat embossed to set it.  The stamp set is called Affection Collection (I got it free when I went to Convention!) and has some lovely images on.

The image was cut out using the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies and the Big Shot then a mat of Tempting Turquoise card was cut using the next largest die.

I stamped the "Friend" sentiment onto Tempting Turquoise card with versamark and used black embossing powder, heat setting it with my heat gun.  The square stamped image is designed to coordinate with a punch called "Modern Label" so I punched it out of the centre of the Basic Black card and then trimmed the card with the 'Friend' sentiment on and mounted it directly behind so it shows through the punched hole.

I just layered the cut out mats on top of the DSP to finish with dimensionals.

Hope you like the thank you cards ladies!?

Don Valley Craft Show & Join the Team!

Hi there
I promised to post some photos of the Don Valley Craft Show the other day and here they are.

This is the stand - just before the doors opened to the public.  We had to contend with the bright sunshine for most of the day!

And here are four of our team from left to right, Joanne (my SU Grandma), Sara (My SU Mummy), Hazel (my lovely SU daughter) and me.

We had a fab day, thanks ladies (and also a massive THANK YOU to Maria who was a great help on the day!).

We have our next team meeting on Sunday the 9th December if you fancy coming over to see what all the fuss fun is all about.  Now on this note, Stampin' Up! set each of us attending Convention in Germany a little challenge - to get a new team member by the end of November so we would get a free stamp set (any value from the current catalogue).

So what I am offering is, if you join our team through me by the end of November (so thats next Friday) I will let you have this free set, and you can pick the one you want once your kit arrives, you just need to let me know which you want and I will get it for you.

This offer is in addition to the six free packs of Designer Series Papers through Stampin' Up! (1 free pack per month for 6 months) but the free stamp set is though me only.

To find out more about the benefits of joining Stampin' Up! and our team click here but please contact by email or call me on 07795 566727 to find out more.

Hubby's Birthday Card

Hi there
It was my lovely Hubby's birthday on Thursday and here is the card I made him.  He loves making things and has lots of drills, hand tools and stuff so when we got the Tool Shed stamp in this years catalogue - I just had to have it.

I used the Tool Shed stamp inked in Chocolate Chip ink and stamped onto an A4 card blank.  The Wood grain embossing folder was used on the Chocolate Chip card panels before they were adhered onto the card blank.

The sentiments were stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink with Happy Birthday from the Best Dad Ever stamp set Punched out with the Decorative Label punch  and the You Mean the world to Me from Word Play and then cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  Accessories include some screw head brads from my stash, a Neutrals Designer button and some linen thread.

I will post some photos in a couple of days from the Don Valley craft show in a couple of days.  But I would like to thank everyone for coming to see us before I go - THANK YOU ladies!!!

Card Candy Convention Swaps

As promised, here is a photo of some crafting - see, I told you I had done some!

A group of us got together and made 'Card Candy' which is where a number of toppers are made and packaged in a way that you might buy them in a shop.

Now, the card candy is always gorgeous, but the trouble is - I can NEVER use it.  I still have them from last year, all shiny and new looking in their packages.

Anyway, here is mine using Scentsational Christmas and the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set.
I will post some more photos over the weekend from Convention, but I have to dash tonight as I still need to get ready for the Craft Fair I am doing at Hemsworth Community Centre tomorrow - Last Minute Lill again!

Fancy coming for a crafty chat?  The address is Hemsworth Community Centre, Bullenshaw Road,
Hemsworth, Pontefract, WF9 4NE and is on from 11 until 3pm.

European Stampin' Up! Convention

All I can say about the European Stampin' Up! Convention this year is WOW.  Definitely the best yet!!!

There were over 800 demonstrators from all over Europe and it was fantastic.  Everything went really smoothly, even getting Mum there (she cant walk very far).  Here is a photo of Sara, Shelli, Hazel & Me - and I actually spoke to Shelli (I was so nervous though, I cant remember what I actually said!).

This is the stage for the awards night (Sara got to go on stage again - well done Sara, you deserve it!).

Our hotel room (or should I say suite) had an incredible view of the river.

I will post more pictures of swaps later and all the offers Stampin' Up! have on this month as I have lots to do today!

Bob back soon for more info!

Team Swaps Papillon Potpouri

Oh, I cant even begin to tell you how excited I am - Im flying to Germany tomorrow to attend the Stampin' Up! European Convention!!!  Im taking my Mum for her first event, and there are 6 members of our team going to so we will have a ball!

Hubby is staying at home (I don't know why hes not as excited about it as I am...) so he will be looking after Mrs Miggins - who wont even realise I'm not at home.

Two days of crafting, shopping and meeting over 800 lovely SU demonstrators, I cant wait.  As soon as I can share anything, I will but I will be trying to update my Facebook page - hopefully, this link should take you there.

We had our team training last Sunday (thanks for coming ladies!) and here is the card I made for our swaps.

I decided I didn't want to start thinking of Christmas yet, so decided on a bright and cheerful card with butterflies - the stamp and matching punch are fab arn't they?

I used the babywipe technique to stamp the butterflies (Melon Mambo, Elegant Eggplant & So Saffron ink) then used the matching punch to punch them out.  The fancy edges are cut from Melon Mambo and Whisper White cardstock using Adorning Accents Edgelits die.

The card blank is Elegant Eggplant with a length of Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon.

Right, its a flying visit as I need to make some swaps.  Bob back in a few days for details of what we got up to at Convention (Oh, I hope Mum behaves herself...)

Stamp-a-Stack Card

Hi there

As promised, here is the card I demonstrated at our Stamp-a-Stack event on Saturday.  We had a fantastic day (thank you ladies!) crafting, chatting and chocolate (three of my favourate things!

Its a really clean and simple design - and quick to make - we made 5 in just over an hour.

The Whisper White card was run throught the Big Shot and the Holiday Frame embossing folder and then matted onto Rich Razzleberry card and the Night of Navy card blank.  The sentiment from Curly Cute was stamped onto Whisper White card and the end punched with the 1 1/4" square punch before matting onto a strip of Rich Razzleberry card - the end of this was punched with the 1 3/8 Square punch.

To finish, the sentiment was mounted on with dimensionals and three Basic Rhinestones were added.

Thats it - simples.

Thanks again to all the lovely ladies who made it a brilliant day by coming to the event!

I know, I know...

I have been naughty and not blogging again, haven't I!?

Well, I am sorry about that but things have been a bit manic - but lovely too!

Our new team member (Hi Joanne!) had a workshop and I helped her get LOADS of fabby freebies last week.  The workshop was fantastic and I loved every minute of it.  Here is the make and take we made.

Its using some of the items from the Ornament Keepsakes Bundle and the bauble folds flat if you are going to post the card!  I couldn't decide which sentiment to put on (there are so many nice ones, I still haven't made my mind on which ones to buy - and it has to be a new one...)

The ink is one of the new In Colours - Gumball Green - you will not believe how amazing these ink pads are.  The coverage and clarity (that's a posh word for this early on a Sunday!) of the image with this ink is amazing.  Looks like I'm going to have to buy all the inks in the new firm foam now (oh, dear!).

The fine scalloped edging along the strip of Snow Festival Designer Series Paper was just strips punched out using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch with just the scallop showing.

What else have I been up to?  Well, I held a fundraiser event last Saturday for Cancer Research UK for Pampered Chef - all the proceeds and all commission from the event are going to the charity, so please let me know if there are any quality cooking items you would like - the order is going in at the end of the month.  Id like to raise as much money as possible for this worthwhile cause.

Did you come to our Stamp-a-stack yesterday?  if you didn't, you missed a CRACKING day - I will post about this in a couple of days.

Have a great weekend!

Holloween Treats

I hav never been a fan of Halloween - mainly cos I dont like monsters or zombies (I ALWAYS had nightmares if I watched a scary film).  But I am so tempted to get this stamp set - I stamped a couple of images out at our last team meeting as they are SOOOOOO cute!

You can get the stamp set and the kit to make the little treat bags separately, but you can save money (15%) by buying them together in a bundle.  There's enough product in the bundle to make 10 treat bags - and as you get the stamp set included, you can make lots more stuff for Halloween gifts.

Ghoolish Googlies Bundle - Wood £18.50, Clear £15.95

Thank You Card From Olivia

I have been playing a lot these last few days but not with my craft stuff - on Facebook!  Yep, I'm getting technical!!!

There's so much to take in though, so I thought I would have a bit of a break and show you this card from a lovely little girl called Olivia, who is five.

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to her mum who mentioned that Olivia loved crafting so I put a few bits & bobs together and gave them to her mum and here is the thank you card she has made me - I think we have a new Glitter Girl.

Thank you Olivia - Looks like I might have some competition soon!

Another Snowflake

Ive been practising again - I just LOVE making these!

When we first saw the dies and stamp set in the Winter Catalogue I was hooked. We couldn't get the stamp set at first so I got the dies anyway and had a bit of a play making them with plain cardstock, but when you use the matching stamps - WOW!

I used the Ornament Keepsakes bundle of stamps and dies, Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler cardstock, Snow Festival DSP, Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Tulle with Baja Breeze and the brand new Midnight Muse ink.  The centre of the snowflake has a Rhinestone Brad - I'm so sorry these are retiring.

I'm having a class on the 6th October so I needed to make a few samples, in different colours - this one is definitely my favourite though.  And just look at the coverage with the new ink pads - no mottled or blotchy finish...   I can see me changing to the new ink pads soon.

The bundle offer from Stampin' Up! gives you 15% off the dies and stamp set, so £38.95 for the clear stamps and £43.95 for the wood mount set (plus I then get 20% discount for being a demonstrator - I love this job!).  Now, if you'd like to order the bundle from me, I am offering you the chance of a class to learn how to make the snowflake for FREE!  This offer is only available from me, and I need to have your order in before the 1st October to get your bundle delivered in time.

You can still come to the class if you like though, its £8 per person and will be at our local community centre in Shafton, Barnsley.  Contact me now to order the bundle and/or book your place on the class.

Ornamental Frame

Hi everyone, I have been quite busy with work and stuff this week so todays post is a card I made a few weeks ago using the Ornamental Frame embossing folder.

As it was the first time I used it, I hadnt taken too much notice of the design of the folder.  The image has a christmas tree and baubles on - but the detail is so small, you really have to look closely to notice.  I actually put the embossed card on upside down!!!

After running the Concord Crush card mat through the Big Shot and the Ornamental Frame embossing folder, I punched the corners using the Scallop Trim Border punch before matting small squares of Very Vanilla card behind the corners to highlight the punched design.

The 'Thanks' image was stamped using Concord Crush ink (from Perfect Punches set), then it was punched it out using the Scalloped Oval punch and mounted to the centre of the oval with dimentionals.

To finish off, I mounted the embossed card mat onto a Concord Crush card blank and used a ruler to draw around the mat with the new gold Stampin' Dazzle marker to create the look of another mat.

Retiring Products Sale - 30th Sept 2012

Scentsational Christmas

Morning!

Ive had a REALLY busy week with a Pampered Chef training night, two cooking shows, a Stampin' Up! Workshop and full day craft show at Don Valley in Sheffield.  So not surprisingly, I havent had any time for crafting.  Here is a card from our Paperdolls Training day - some of us swap samples to share ideas and inspiration in the team.

The images have stamps with matching dies so you can cut them out in a flash to make really cute projects.  There is also some scented embossing powder to make them smell of Christmas!!!

The Autumn Winter Catalogue is now live, so if you would like to order them, email me and I will put in your order.

Want to see something else I made this weekend?

Well, here are my first EVER Yorkshire Puddings...

Thanks for stopping by!

Last Chance List is Here...

Hi there, are you having a nice weekend?

Its all go at Stampin' Up! now.  I can now show you the Autumn Winter Catalogue as it is now available to customers.

Here is one of the first items I made, an ornament which I will put on my Christmas tree in December - and will be making more soon!

I used the new dies and the lovely tulle and copied the ornament from the front page of the catalogue - I will be getting the matching stamp set very soon which is gorgeous, but I just couldnt wait to play.

Here is a link to the new Autumn Winter Catalogue.  CLICK HERE to view it on-line, or email me to get a copy through the post.

I will be posting about a little promotion I am doing soon, so check back in the next few days to hear more.

They also announced all the products which are retiring at the end of September, including stamp sets, designer series papers, textured card stock and accessories.  Although there seems to be loads going - that's to make way for all the gorgeous goodies coming our way!

Here is a link to the Stampin' Up! website which has the lists - bob back regularly to check if the items you are thinking about getting are still available, the lists will be updated daily as items become out of stock.

As Independent Demonstrators, we get to see the new catalogue a month before it goes live to customers so we can prepare for the new items - I cant show you them yet, but if you join our team, you will get access to all the lovely goodiness!

All I can tell you is that we will get a much bigger catalogue with more stamps and more accessories, including a new type of ink pad.  But dont worry, the main colours are staying the same, its just the materials used for holding the ink that are changing.

Thanks for stopping by.

Its Finished!

At long last, I have finally finished my cover for the 12x12 paper and card storage unit that my wonderful hubby made me earlier this year.

As usual, I decided that I wanted to use something I couldnt get easily - the Spice Cake fabric I wanted became unavailable earlier this year.  But Im just hoping that it comes back in the new catalogue (which as a demonstrator, I get to see on the 1st September - and cant wait!).

Well, here it is

I originally planned for it to be separate panels, tied with ribbons, but it looks much better with the panels stitched closed.  I just need to lift it off to get to the papers, so its really quick and easy, and I dont have to worry about any gaps for the papers and card to be exposed to light making them fade.

It stands about 4 feet high now so theres lots of room for filling up with the fabby new papers we're getting...

Hope you are having a great weekend?
